In addition to moving their headquarters downtown in June 2009, Lifestyle Communities will soon offer their first ever units in Downtown Columbus. Lifestyle Communities is building a residential neighborhood in the RiverSouth area, replacing four surface parking lots.

Construction began in June 2008 on the 200 new apartments and condominiums along Front Street between Town and Rich Streets. The project will be moderately priced and targeted at young professionals.

The 130 apartments will have rents between $750-$990, and 76 condominiums will have an average cost of $200,000. Both townhomes and flats will offer shared rooftop terraces, a central plaza and more than 300 parking spaces.

Most importantly, the project is integral to the renaissance of downtown’s up-and-coming RiverSouth District. Recent public and private investments have made RiverSouth an emerging neighborhood. Construction for the Main Street Bridge has been under way for several years, and The Lazarus Building has been renovated into an award winning "green" office space and is 99 percent leased. The Scioto Mile Park began construction in May 2008 and the municipal garage at the corner of Front and Rich streets will be completed in the spring of 2009.

In addition the City will begin the next phase of converting streets from 1-way to 2-way this summer, with completion expected in 2009. Road Conversions around RiverSouth will include:

  • Front Street (Broad to Rich)
  • Ludlow Street (Town to Rich)
  • Wall Street (Town to Rich)
  • Rich Street (High to Ludlow)
