Franklin County Courthouse
The 300,000-square-foot, seven-story, glass-walled building on the northwest corner of Mound and High Streets has been called a 21st-century symbol of transparency of the American Justice System.
Indeed.
But it’s also just plain cool looking.
Located in the RiverSouth District, the Franklin County Courthouse has taken the place of blighted surface lots and will provide a healthy, productive and respectful work setting for employees and jurors alike.
Constructed of high-performing, sustainable building materials, the Courthouse structure will minimize pollution and create significant energy savings for the County.
When it opens in 2011, the Franklin County Courthouse will connect the northern and southern ends of downtown and enhance the appearance of the southern portion of the City.
