Special thanks to Sprout Soup, Little Alouette, and the Childhood League Center Nurse Susan Campbell for their time and support!
- July 14 - Sweet Corn Day
Market Staff sampled four different salsa recipes using local sweet corn courtesy of Champ Henson and Henson Farm. Champ and his family shared their favorite salsa recipe with us that is simple and deliciously fresh:
- Thinly slice tomatoes and onions. Sprinkle with salt and let it sit for a couple hours.
- Drain all liquid
- Chop up tomatoes and onions
- Added chopped green pepper and fresh corn
- Squeeze a little lime juice and season to taste with salt and pepper

Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails made a guest appearance to sample sweet corn fritters. Although these yummy snacks are not currently on the menu at Tip Top, general manager Tim Lessner assured customers that they're gonna have to be soon!
- August 11 - Tomato Day
Market staff found some great recipes in "Farms and Foods of Ohio" by Marilou K. Suszko that featured heirloom tomatoes for the day's samples. Recipes included Heirloom Tomato Sauce with maple syrup, Eggplant and Tomato Spread, Greek Lentil Salad, and the surprising crowd favorite, Green Tomato Cake. Market staff was joined by Cafe Brioso who sampled their delicious and refreshing gazpacho. Sorry, can't share that recipe!

- September 15 - Eat Local Challenge Cooking Demonstration, sponsored by Ohio Proud
The Ohio Department of Agriculture challenged Ohioans to prepare at least one meal a day made with local foods from September 14 through September 18. The Ohio Proud team was on hand with its 24-foot mobile kitchen and featured Ketih Adams of Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails as the guest chef. He shopped the Market for his ingredients and prepared two delicious dishes for sampling: Roasted Beet Salad and Butternut Squash Risotto. (Recipes are on their way!)
Special thanks to the Department of Agriculture, Ohio Proud, and Tip Top Kitchen and Cocktails.

Steven's Orchard and Bakery provided samples of their Apple Streudel Pie and four apple varieties to taste including Rome, Granny Smith, Melrose, Winesap, and Golden Delicious. The crowd favorite was the Apple Rosemary Bread. You can view the recipes here.
